HOW THIS PROGRAM HELPS SET CLEAR PRIORITIES
_
If you’re responsible for the visitor experience within a museum or gallery, you probably already know that good intentions don’t always result in a consistently culturally inclusive experience.
Your staff and volunteers may be committed to providing excellent service, yet cultural differences can influence how visitors seek assistance, interpret information, ask questions, respond to rules or decide whether to raise concerns.
These cultural differences are often subtle. They don't always appear in complaints, visitor feedback or performance data, making it difficult to know where attention is most needed.
That’s why I developed this program.
Having coached and trained hundreds of premium-service airline staff, I've seen many of the same cross-cultural service challenges emerge across customer-facing environments. This program helps museum and gallery leaders examine those challenges through a practical, organisational lens.
Using The 5 CLEAR Moments that Matter in Customer Experience™, I’ll guide you through a structured, step-by-step process to examine where the gap between intended and experienced service may widen or close.
Together, we’ll consider:
- where cultural blind spots may affect visitor interactions
- how supported and confident staff and volunteers feel
- whether procedures, processes and information practices help or hinder culturally responsive service
- what evidence already exists and what may require further investigation
- which management priorities deserve attention first
The aim is to help you establish a clearer baseline of current performance and identify the priorities requiring attention, without defaulting to frontline training or assuming that every concern is a frontline capability issue.
By the end of the program, you’ll be better placed to decide what your organisation should prioritise and do next:
- What requires attention first. Identify the visitor-experience moments, frontline challenges and organisational conditions that should be prioritised.
- What you can strengthen through management action. Clarify where changes to expectations, procedures, processes, information practices, frontline guidance or management support may improve performance.
- Where further support may be needed. Distinguish issues that may require additional evidence, specialist advice or frontline capability development.
- What a focused path forward looks like. Define practical priorities based on your organisation’s context rather than assumptions, isolated complaints or generic solutions.
The objective is not to provide identical service to every visitor. It is to help your organisation apply shared culturally inclusive principles consistently while enabling staff and volunteers to respond appropriately to the visitor, the cultural context and the situation.

OVERVIEW
_
This program focuses on a common challenge when working with Asian stakeholders: discussions appear positive and aligned, yet decisions can stall or take an unexpected direction.
Rather than focusing on general cultural awareness, the program explores how communication, hierarchy and relationship dynamics influence how decisions are discussed and progressed in Asian business environments.
Through real scenarios and applied frameworks, you’ll learn how to interpret stakeholder signals, navigate indirect communication, and move discussions forward while protecting trust and professional credibility.
OBJECTIVE
_
Develop the ability to interpret stakeholder signals, navigate indirect communication and hierarchy, and progress decisions confidently when working with Asian stakeholders.
WHO THIS PROGRAM IS FOR
_
Senior leaders making decisions that involve Asian stakeholders, teams or partners.
Leaders negotiating deals, partnerships or long-term collaborations across Asian markets.
Executives responsible for strategy implementation across diverse regions or business units.
Managers accountable for operational outcomes where ambiguity can erode momentum, credibility or results.
FOCUS AREAS
(TAILORED TO YOUR SITUATION)
_
Many clients come to me with decision-making challenges involving Asian stakeholders, but the focus often extends to related commercial, leadership, and cross-cultural considerations.
Examples of what we may work through include:
- Interpreting stakeholder signals when agreement is indirect or unclear
- Understanding where decisions are actually being shaped and who holds influence
- Planning how to progress a specific deal, project, or negotiation
- Navigating hierarchy, relationships, and potential loss of face
- Applying pressure safely without damaging trust or credibility
- Recovering from stalled or misaligned decisions
- Preparing for high-stakes meetings or stakeholder conversations
- Managing cross-cultural dynamics within teams or partnerships
The focus is always your real situation — not a predefined curriculum.

CHALLENGES ADDRESSED
_
I feel confident about the decisions I make, but I’m less certain how they land once they move across Asian business contexts.
I struggle to tell whether silence or polite agreement means alignment, hesitation, or quiet resistance.
I’ve experienced situations where pushing for clarity or speed has made things worse, not better.
I often receive fewer informal signals than I’m used to and only become aware of issues once they surface late.
I’m concerned that ambiguity around expectations and authority is starting to erode momentum, credibility, or outcomes.
ACTIONABLE TAKEAWAYS
_
Greater confidence in designing decisions that hold once they move across Asian business contexts.
Clearer judgement about when silence signals alignment, hesitation or the need for adjustment.
Practical ways to maintain authority and momentum without forcing clarity or triggering resistance.
Earlier visibility of potential issues, reducing late surprises and downstream repair work.
A more reliable approach to navigating ambiguity while protecting credibility, trust and outcomes.
TESTIMONIALS
“It gave me a different way of looking at situations that had been frustrating me for a while.”
_
I was managing across several Asian markets at once, and I could tell things weren’t quite moving the way I expected, even though no one was openly disagreeing. The coaching helped me step back and make sense of patterns I was seeing repeatedly, rather than treating each issue as a one-off.
— Senior Executive, Asia-Pacific Operations – Aviation & Transport
“I realised I’d been taking agreement at face value, and that assumption was costing us time.”
_
In my role, progress often depends on reading between the lines. What I found useful was having a space to talk through real decisions and unpack why things stalled after meetings that seemed positive at the time.
— Partner, Asia-Facing Practice – Professional Services
“Craig helped me put language around things I’d noticed but hadn’t been able to explain.”
_
Managing long-term partnerships across the region means I have to make judgement calls without always having clear signals. The coaching was useful in slowing those moments down and deciding when to follow up, when to leave space, and when to reset expectations altogether.
— Executive Lead, International Partnerships – Infrastructure Sector
